Preceptors will be discussing potential solutions to challenges encountered in layered learning environments with other preceptors in similar practice settings (breakout sessions for ambulatory care, acute care, community, and health system learning communities). Some of the topics that will be discussed include logistics (space, orientation), feedback (feedback to multiple learners, feedback in a team environment), performance disparities, and appropriate learning activities

Learning Objectives:
  1. Define the key attributes of the layered learning practice model
  2. Describe best practices for implementing the layered learning model in your practice site (health system, acute care, community, ambulatory care)
  3. Outline solutions to common challenges encountered in layered learning settings
Target Audience:  This program is designed for preceptors who teach learners at different learning levels simultaneously (immersion students, advanced immersion students, residents, etc.).
