Multiple-Choice Questions: Do Yours Make the Cut? A Hands-On Workshop

NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine

8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 in Beard 200 & Karpen 103

The Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research (CIPhER) and the Office of Curricular Innovation cordially invite you to attend a hands-on workshop specifically designed for test item authors.  The workshop will include a presentation on how to write quality multiple-choice questions (MCQs) that assess higher order thinking (e.g., application of data, interpretation of data, decision-making).  For a test item to generate a valid score it must test content that is considered to be important AND be free from technical flaws.  Session participants will take a closer look at the proper structure of MCQs, learn how to recognize the potential flaws that disrupt the overall effectiveness of items, and will apply that knowledge in a hands-on session aimed at writing and optimizing MCQs using items from our current curriculum.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Tuesday, May 7, at 5 p.m.
