Creating Authentic Assessments

The Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research (CIPhER) cordially invites you to attend the workshop, “Creating Authentic Assessments.” In this session, traditional assessments, where students typically select answers on a multiple-choice exam will be compared and contrasted against authentic assessments where students perform a learned task in a real-world setting. The meaning and importance of authentic assessments, as well as guidance on how to effectively design and implement authentic assessments in your classroom will be discussed.
 
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Wednesday, February 27, at 5 p.m.

Presenter Information
Amanda Olsen, PhD, is a postdoctoral research associate with CIPhER at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She received her MA in educational psychology and her PhD in statistics, measurement, and evaluation in education both from the University of Missouri at Columbia. Her main research interests include teaching and learning effectiveness, applied quantitative methodologies, the analysis of large scale datasets, and program evaluation within educational settings.
